Common Dental Emergencies
Don't panic. We've treated hundreds of urgent dental situations. Here's what you need to know about common emergencies—and how we can help.
Severe Toothache or Pain
Sudden, intense tooth pain is often a sign of decay, infection, or damage. This needs immediate attention to prevent complications.
What we do: We'll examine the tooth, diagnose the cause, and provide pain relief and treatment options—often on the same day.
Knocked-Out Tooth
Time matters. If a tooth is knocked out, the sooner we see you, the better the chance we can save it or restore it.
What we do: We'll attempt to reimplant the tooth or discuss restoration options like implants or bridges. Call us immediately.
Broken or Chipped Tooth
A cracked or chipped tooth exposes the inner layers and can lead to pain and infection if left untreated.
What we do: Depending on severity, we offer bonding, fillings, crowns, or other restorative solutions. Dr. Caballero will evaluate and recommend the best option.
Lost Filling or Crown
When a filling falls out or a crown comes loose, the tooth underneath is vulnerable to decay and sensitivity.
What we do: We'll clean the tooth, assess any damage, and replace the filling or crown—often in a single visit.
Abscess or Infection
Swelling, pus, fever, or a bad taste in your mouth may indicate a bacterial infection. This requires urgent treatment.
What we do: We'll drain the infection, address the source (root canal, extraction, or antibiotics), and provide relief. Don't wait on this one.
Bleeding or Swollen Gums
Inflamed or bleeding gums can signal gum disease, infection, or trauma. Early treatment prevents serious complications.
What we do: We'll examine your gums, rule out infection, and provide scaling, root planing, or other periodontal care as needed.
